Who We Are
John Newman, CEO/Construction Manager
Education
Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Washington State University
 
John has over twenty five years of experience in the management and construction of large private and public projects. His experience includes a diverse history in the management of numerous types of construction, including business parks, hospitals and medical laboratories, aquatics centers, libraries, restaurant and retail, senior living congregate care facilities, seismic upgrades, multi-use facilities, and office improvements. In this capacity, he has been responsible for performing pre-construction services, value engineering, estimating, bidding, contract negotiation, scheduling, and overall project management. John has extensive experience with City agencies, design consultants, contractors, and field personnel.
 
John’s responsibilities are focused on estimating, marketing and Construction Management projects, as well as the daily administration of ongoing contracts for construction, and the operational tasks related to the function of the company.
 
Prior to co-founding MillenniuM Construction Group, John worked as a Project Manager for a large west coast contractor with annual revenues of $400 million, and also functioned as the Construction Manager for the City of Antioch to construct the $14 million Antioch Water Park while working for a local engineering firm.

Rich has nearly thirty eight years of experience in the construction industry. His experience includes a wide range of various types of construction, including restaurant and retail facilities, large multi-family developments, seismic upgrades, custom homes, shopping center developments, hospital upgrades, nursing home facilities, and office tenant improvements. Rich’s experience in completing these projects extends to the practical arena of construction, as well as the technical and managerial aspects. In this capacity he has been responsible for performing pre-construction services, value engineering, estimating, bidding, contract negotiations, scheduling, change order and contract administration, and project closeout.
 
Rich has an extensive background in the development and construction of restaurant facilities. With an intimate knowledge in the workings of kitchen equipment, restaurant operations, and code requirements including Health, ADA, and Building Codes, Rich is able to provide architects and clients with valuable input on cost saving issues as well as alternate methods or sequences which allow for more aggressive completion schedules.
 
Focusing on the production aspects of the contracts for construction and working in concert with project superintendents and trade contractors, he specializes in all phases of construction Project Management. This would include coordination of client, architect and trade contractor responsibilities; critical path project scheduling; negotiation, award and administration of Trade Contracts; and project cost control.
